Suspension
Hello,
I recently purchased a 2004 RX-8. I love the car. The only problem with it is it is a really bumpy ride. But all the great things about the car shadow that little problem. I feel every little bump, almost as if I don't have shocks in the rear. I plan on taking it to the dealership to have it checked because it is still under warranty. But before I do I thought I would ask if this is normal for this car. I understand that this is a sports car. But this is my 4th sports car and by far the bumpiest of them all. If this is normal, is there some upgrades that can be done to give it a much smoother ride. If so can you give me a list or a site I can to go to ckeck them out.
Thanks

Since you bought it used, do you know if it has an aftermarket suspension? The stock RX-8 has a rather soft suspension compared to other cars (i.e. 350Z). Check tire pressures too. Could be overinflated.

Power!!
That's very unusual. Most people think the RX8 has a soft suspension. I would definitely find out if you have the stock setup or an aftermarket one. Hopefully if it's a decent aftermarket setup it's adjustable and you can soften it up to your liking.
The only other thought is if it's the stock shocks they may be worn out and need replacing.

Thanks for all the quick replies. I am offshore so i won't be able to check on it for a few more days. I had my wife take it to the tire store and they checked the pressure. There was abotu 45-50 psi in each !! Well they dropped it to about 30 and she said it rides a little better but still rough. Also the tires hadn't been rotated in along time so they did that for me and she said that it helped with the pulling it was doing. The only reason I am not too worried about it is that I got it for a great price with a full 3 year 75,000 warranty. So hopefully 1st thing I do when I get home is drop it off at the dealership and have them give it a through inspection and repair everything that needs to be done. I will post what they find just incase someone else has the same problem.
