Guys, over the last few days I hav erealized how usefull and informative this forum is. Quite frankly it kicks ***. Other than a few brushes with a select few on difference of opinion (which some do not allow here) it's been an awesome experience. So since I have learned to trust and take to heart most of what all of you say here I have a dilema on my 8's spring future at hand. Please give me your best unbiased opinion.

Here's the deal. Apparently the best drop for the 8 is offered by Tein (model s) spring bout $155 hopup racing. It drops 1.4 inches in front which is badly needed and .07 in rear which is just enough. This all sounds and looks great however all my previous experiences with drops have been with H&R's , Eibachs, Neuspeed. I know these springs and just about everyone who lowers their car has them. I worry that that the Teins are inferior. So then you say, well use the springs you know. The problem is their drops are not as well balanced and I don't want to cut em later. What do you guys think and what hav eyou done? Are Tein's that good? They are so much cheaper than the others they make me suspect. Fill me in, please be honest.

I have the Teins on my 8 and Eibachs on my Mazda 6. I have had the Eibachs on all of my previous cars that I dropped before and I honestly cannot really tell a difference. The ride on the 8 is close to stock and even with 19's it is still not bad at all. I think if you want a more level look you will not be disappointed with the Teins. I wish I could of got coilovers but this to me is the next best choice, but that is my opinion because I wanted the front to be level with the rear. Hope this helps.

Spend the big bucks and get the JIC's......drop low as you want or raise for the stock look....

One word about drops--okay several actually. First is what is level? Eyeballing the wheel gap front/rear, or actually measuring from the top of the fender to the center of the wheel? Sounds like the Tein's will do the former but not the latter. Second is if you drop the front that much you may compromise handling as the control arms get "butterflied" out of their ideal position (level with ground). Third is if you ever get an aftermarket front bumper or bumper lip you may find scraping is a serious issue.

PUR NRG, Good points on what is level. They are still higher in the front than the rear but you have a good point it was designed with a serious gap in the front and it probably was for a reason.
