Racing Beat sway bars with stock end links

I did a lot of reading on these forums and came to the conclusion that racing beat sways are the way to go to reduce body roll with stock springs and shocks. What I am not convinced about is drilling the front control arms to accomodate the racing beat endlinks. So my question to all the suspension gurus here is, from your past experience, how well do the stock endlinks handle the racing beat sways? Racing beat does suggest this upgrade, but I don't want to drill my car. Do you guys think that I will be in trouble if I don't upgrade the end links?

Also, would love to get feedback from RB sway users about the balance of the car. I like the neutral feel of the stock setup. Does RB disturb this balance? I basically want super flat cornering without any more understeer or oversteer than the stock sways.

Thank you all very much!!! Love this forum...

I have had my RB bars & front-end links on for almost a year. Other than having to re-grease the bushings I have zero complaints. You will notice the improvement right away and this is one of the best MOD’s for the money. If the OEM end links would fail with them RB would instruct customers they MUST change them, they don’t. But stress on the OEM links will increase so the RB links seem to make sense if you plan on tracking your car or in general drive hard. If you’re only doing this mod for better street performance then the OEM links will be fine. I have photo of the RB links & drilling in this thread by the way.

Love the RB sway bars. They (most 'beefier' sways also) definitely help the car stabilize in the corners. I did not track my car before putting the bars on but on the track, I never feel like I am rolling over in corners. My videos even show the car mostly flat in hard corners. Seems like a good thing to me. I have spoken to others who have tracked their 8s before and after and they described it as night and day. Go fo it.

I still have the OEM end links wonder a lot if I am tempting the devil on the track. So far so good but am still considering the RB upgrade.

Haven't heard of anyone breaking their OEM endlinks....

I'm still using the OEM links on the front, with both RB sways (upgraded the back links to Agency links, which really tightened up the back).

One thing with the shape of the stock links is that they add some extra flex into the system, and the RB links are a similar (if a bit bigger) design.

I'm planning on getting some new front links, since I've got a tad too much oversteer now (like I said, the Agency rear links are very solid), but I've been looking at the ICR alloy links or else the new Agency front links (both of which are adjustable). Not sure about the ICR's but the Agency's don't require any drilling of stock holes.

I'm not sure about the ICR's, though since I've only seen them for sale on on site, which told me they were backordered when I first ordered a set, then changed their story to "those don't exist yet" over the phone after twice the predicted backorder delay had passed (they still list the things on their site, though).

Right now, I'm just hoping that someone's got something workable at Sevenstock (I remember seeing some Miata links last year that might work, but the guy at the booth didn't know).

If you want a really odd experience, try driving around with just the front sway upgraded, and the rear bar still stock (I wound up having to split my install into a 2-weekend project). The car feels like a FWD with that setup, very eerie.

here's a link to the most recent (last couple days) thread about the agency links:

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=agency

try searching on "agency" in the suspension board, the first few threads relate to end links.

I think I ordered mine from horsepowerfreaks.com (either that or vividracing.com), whichever of the two it was, I tried to order the ICR's frm the other and found out that those parts were vaporware (and may still be)

drilling out for the RB endlinks isnt a big deal, it takes like 5 min and is barely noticable.

The sway bars are great, best BFB.
I think you should get the end-links as well. The stock end-links are not going to break, but I am not so sure after a few track days, mountain road, or freeway on and off rams. The end-links are only $50, but it gives you the confidance taking the next coner harder without crashing your beautiful ride because the end-links broke and you lose control.

I don't mind paying those 50 bucks if I did not have to drill the control arms. I am worried about making them weak by drilling. Looks like those are made with some kind a cast alloy. If that is the case, it is very easy to introduce microscopic fractures by drilling. I might be totally wrong on this. Will have to take a closer look.

Guys, thanks for all the responses!
