People with Tein S Springs, quick question.
yo
hey i just got done trying what that other guy had said about tightin the control arm bolts after putting it down. I loosened them up on my car ,since i tighten mine before i put it down also, and me and my brother sat on the front of the car to see if it would lower it. Nope its still the same 25 1/2 inches from the ground to the fender. And i have the Eibach pro kit with one full coil cut on all springs. I'm not really sure what u were expecting cause ur car was pretty low for stock springs to begin with. But i do total understand why ur not happy cause it does look the same i think it is alittle lower. but next car i do i will definatly take pics before and after. (I dont know to many people that have felt a big differance in ride with basic springs). I would also check and see if they are real teins. Go to there web site they have had alot of problems wit copy cat suspensions. They should tell you how to tell if you got real Tein spring. Any how i dont see why tighting the bolts before or after would make a diferance, i understand the idea but they will settle no matter what. The bushings are not going to hold that car up for long. I have been lowering car for a long time and i asked several other friends that have shops and they have all agreed end result after they settle will be the same tighting the bolts before or after you put the car down. Well once again sorry they didnt come out the way you wanted.
P.S.
I do remember your springs didnt come in a tein box check this link it should help you figure it out i didnt really look i just put in what you brought.

Got the H-tech in mine, still very happy with them after ~10K miles. Drop is perfect IMHO. Diff between the S-tech and H-tech is that H-tech is supposed to maintain stock ride. More info here. Hope this helps.

Yeah they didn't come in the Tein box because I bought them from a forum member whom no longer had the original box. I looked at the site prior to install and they are real Teins. I wonder if by chance the orginal owner thought they were S, but really were H?

Ok, gf and I just went downstairs and the front is aprox. 1.5 inch while the rear sits aprox. at 1 inch.
That's about half of stock icomparing them to Jeffjett's numbers. I can't imagine my front had a 3 inch gap though, even Tim mentioned I looked lower the usual.

They are to low for me.......pulled apart my exhaust system going over a hill ((gated fence in my apartment complex on an incline had a raised metal bar on the ground to keep the fence inline))....damaged my tranny to....lots of moohlaah out of my pocket......also scrape every speedbump.....ride quality has gotten progressively worse...no signs of wear...and the car doesn't seem much more responsive then stock...allthough could because of my staggered 19 inch setup with 285's in the back....great show quality though
if you have the appearance package. they you may have to angle some steep driveways or "slow down" on some speed bumps. the drop is looks good on the car but the driver needs to know when a place is too steep and whatnot.
if this gated fence bar damaged your exhaust system, i dont see how cars make it around there, seeing as how the rear was lowered less than an inch.

Hmm I don't know....my 8 actually used to scrape it a little with just me and the girl in the car stock....my 6 clears it, my truck does, so does my GF's sebring.....now with the springs I can barely clear the front bumper without it looking like its going to hit............then again I hit coke cans on their side
......you say 1 inch....I say incline to flat land makes it much more than that....
Hill is litterally steep like this before straight flat

Ok, I'm back now with pictures of the springs after they have settled. I've made these small so not to take too much room, if for whatever reason you'd like a larger picture just PM me.

Just installed mine this weekend. I did measure before and after and I'm not thrilled.
As measured from the ground through the center of the rim to the highest spot on the wheel well:
Before
Front: 27 1/4"
Rear: 27 1/4"
After
Front: 26 3/8" (about 7/8" drop)
Rear: 27.1/8" (about 1/8" drop)
I did install these myself and did bear in mind the bushing preload. In fact, the rear sat at 27 1/2" after, until I loosened both top lateral link and trailing link bushings (with the car on the ground, again), had myself and another jump up and down on the rear end, then tightened them back up. Did manage to drop 3/8" after that. Done some sprited driving for the last couple of days, taking measurements before and after, no change. Also checked for authentic Teins, which they are.
One thing I should note is that I followed DriftJunkie's writeup which involved removing the lower rear lateral link at the ball joint end, rather than at the bushing end so as to preserve the alignment adjustments. There was definately some preload in that link, but nothing that about 25lbs of down pressure couldn't counter.
The ride is definately acceptable, hardly added any noticable harshness. The drop in the front is also acceptable, but only droping 1/8" in the rear is not acceptable.
Suggestions? I'm assuming I'll get a 'be patient' type of response. I'll try, but I guess I don't have a whole lot of choice, now.
