New Tires

I need some suggestions for tires. Have a 2004 Rx8 with the touring package. Had it for 4 years and tried several different tires; Falkens and currently have General Exclaims. What does everyone buy? Live in North Georgia mountains and drive on lots of mountain curves.

I have found tirerack.com to be very helpful when buying tires. you tell them what your looking for in a tire like: handling, longevity, comfort, or performance then they show you all the different brands with reviews from experts and customers that suit your needs.
IF your looking for an extreme performance tire in the mountain curves I would recommend the Yokohama advan neovas. They are very grippy. Good luck

You need to be spacific on what your looking for... pure performance... longevity ... price...

If your looking for Max grip in dry conditions for a good price and don't mind tread life <15k check out hankook rs-3's.

You really have to be more specific. The best tire for you may not be the best tire for me. Depends what climate you live in and how you drive and whats the first thing on your mind once you get behind the wheel ex: comfort? grip? Noise?

there are tire reviews all over the interwebs. Google is your friend. There are also tire reviews and tire threads all over this forum. Why not do a little research for yourself and see what fits your needs.

The tires i have waiting to go on are noisy, have terrible wear characteristics, but are almost a sticky as an r comp. I can't wait. You might hate them. If i get 10k miles out of them i'd be surprised. I'll be happy if i get 7k.

The motivo is a high performance all season. What that means is that it's a no season and doesn't really excel in any category other than maybe tread wear. It's going to be middle of the road as far as wet and dry handling, snow and slush, and any other parameter.

What you really need to do is sit down and figure out what you want out of a tire and how much you want to spend. There are 100's of very good tires spread across many different needs.

I have Yokohama S.drive 245/40R18 tires on stock rims....really pleased and would recommend same.

My last tires were Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, but they have been discontinued in that size (except for the run-flats that are > $1700/set).

Regardless of what you go with - get pricing from Tire Rack (or other online sites) and make sure your local tire shop matches or beats that pricing.

Good luck on the selection...
