One myth to disspell is that all season tires are better in the wet than the max performance tires. Although you may find a few exceptions (like the RT 615), tires like the RE050 Pole Positions and Pilot Sports are just as good or even better at channeling water away.

Tossing out all your choices (sorry) I'd look at the above mentioned rubber and also some others in posts above (HTR ZIII, Kumho XS). Also, someone mentioned Federal 595 - check the reviews on it, I'm pretty sure it's one of the least expensive (probably priced similar to the General Exclaim UHP) performance treads for our car.

And since you don't need to worry about driving in snow, and you've now tossed the idea of putting all-season crap on such a fine sportscar you can look at competitors to the Kumho XS, more specifically the Z1 Star Specs and the RE-11s.

Invo

All you guys running the Invos, what kind of mileage are you seeing from these tires? I am running Conti contact patch 2 and have 42k on them. They have been great tires but they are used up. One thing I did notice while running the Conti tires is my fuel economy improved by 2 mpg overall. I am considering the Invo ,but if they wear out in 20k , they are not for me. I am not a auto x or a real aggressive driver. I want a tire with good grip and and runs quiet and decent longivity. Info appreciated.

I just put Yokohama S-Drive 245/40/18 on a couple days ago. So far so good and they got a good review on tire rack.

I have a buddy who lives out near Worcester and he just put on the same set. What's with you 'westerners' and your Yoko's?

LOL, this is my first set. They were cheap (158.00) and ranked 3rd in their category on Tire Rack.

I put only two seasons on my Invos. maybe 16k and need to get new tires this season. They are almost bald and I do not think they will pass inspection. They have gotten really loud latley. Traction wise they are amazing.

dont know about mileage yet, just got them a month ago but when it comes to traction, they are great especially at the dragstrip and during hard cornering....and i big plus for me is how quiet they are, very little road noise

T1-Rs are pretty good, but they are quite noisy. I am currently on my second set and they are are about to be done. From my experience I would consider them good for daily driving because you can get some decent grip out of them. All I can say is there are tires which are less noisy, have better grip, and are cheaper out there like the invos (which I will be heading toward for my next set).
