HEEELLPP... i think there's something wrong with my clutch

today was the first time this has happened. whenever i would press down on the accel pedal, the rpm meter would shoot up and the clutch would go down by itself, but the car isn't moving that fast. this has NEVER happened to me before.. any suggestions on what i should get checked up? thanks in advance

do you mean the clutch was disengaging itself? was the pedal going down? The rpm going without the car gaining speed sounds like clutch slipping which would mean your clutch is worn out.

how many miles on your car?

yeah the clutch is disengaging itself.. oh no so it's worn out? that's exactly what happening too,the clutch has been slipping whenever i revved. i only have like.. 22000 miles on it, but i bought it used. i think it's still under warranty.. how much would it cost to get the clutch replaced you think?

^ According to some of the other threads on here, ball park of 1K or so depending on dealer, if you choose to take it to them.

If you still have your bumper to bumper warranty it may be covered. What year? Also a few clutches have been popping their spring rivets. That's not a wear issue that's a part defect and that should be covered under warranty if that's the case.

well i don't think i did anything excessively bad to it that it would just give out like that.. i has been making squeaking noises for a while whenever i pressed down, like it wasn't oiled well or smth. it's an 05. i'm gonna take it in to get it checked up tomorrow. is it cheaper if i buy my own clutch kit and just pay for labor? i see some ACT clutch kits online for around 300 bucks.. and thanks for your help
