Any tried removing a tire at home?

Has anyone tried removing a tire from a rim at home? After looking at a few videos on You Tube I think I can do it. But if anyone has ever tried this please comment, I'd love to hear any tips.

Oh and BTW I am only considering this because I don't care if I scratch the rims. I just want to save the tire and the TPMS.

I have done motorcycles.

Not worth the effort on a car.

on low-profile, performance tires, I wouldn't bother. I'd try it on my wife's Santa Fe in a heartbeat if I had a need.

it cost 10 bucks to have tire dismounted.. what you want to do is not worth it. you will damage something, might be you.

i suggest staying away from screwing all that up. i bet if you go to america's tire or tirepros, something like that they would gladly remove your tires. it will take maybe a few minutes. i do not suggest doing it yourself, too much effort.

To anyone thinking of removing a 45 or less profile tire at home without any special tools - forget it - I tried pretty hard to no avail. Of course this advise does not apply to Chuck Norris.
