Also has any one upgraded to the mazda speed versions and if so could you please tell me how they affected the cars ride and preformance. the make the structure of the chasis more rigid from side to side and help reduce body roll.

1) The stut bar mounts across the top of the shock strut towers and help to make the car more stiff in torsional bending. In english, they keep the car from twisting in hard cornering and this help the handling.

2) The stabilizing bar (or the anti-roll bar) is a bar that connects the suspension from both sides of the car. The stifer the roll bar, the less the car will roll (lean) on cornering. This does affect the overhall ride stiffness of the car also.

For everyday driving, these upgrades are not required for the RX-8, it is pretty good stock in both stiffness and body roll. For hard driving and track racing, these are required upgrades.

As far as other brands, I have never upgraded these components and cannot recommend anyone else that Mazdaspeed.

Hope this helps.
