Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position - worth it?

I was shopping tires on Tire Rack and saw these on clearance for $129 down from $234. Wondering if I would regret buying these tires? I don't know anything about tires and I'm not sure if there's another set that's similar price but better tire. I am considering the following tires from discount tire:

Falken FK 452: $132
Nitto NT 555 Extreme Performance: $134
Nitto Invo: $143
Falken Azenis RT-615: $168
Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season: $171

So, I'm looking at price range of about $560-$685

I live in Iowa but I don't plan to drive my 8 in the snow.

The S-03 is a proven performance tire that is more than enough tire for street driving and will hold up well at the track (plus it won't get greasy after 20 minutes like the RT-615).
It will grip better than the FK 452, the 555, and the F1 (and grip equally as the Invo).
At the clearance price, it's a great deal.

I've used S03's for the past 6 months, and after a couple of track days, a dozen auto crosses, they have held up very well. No complaints at all IMO best tire for price.

Awesome, thanks guys. Do you know if the Tire Rack sponsor on here offers any discount codes or shipping deals or anything? I figured I might as well ask before I order.

It always pays to check around on the 'net: www.roadwaywholesaletire.com and see that they've got the S-02.

Edit: Strike that. I always check their site when pricing Bridgestones, yet they don't show the superior (in the dry, vs. S-03) S-02 any more. They do blow TireRack's price away on the RE050 PP, however. For a little more than the S-03 you can get yourself a tire that, most likely, does not show a stamp on the sidewall dating back to 2+ years ago.

How do the 03's compare with the OEM 40's? I had mine for 4 months and 6k miles before I scrapped them. There was something wrong with them from Day 1. A flat spot on one or more of the tires. The dealer tried to fix and couldn't so I went to Bridgestone and I was amazed that their customer service was so good. They made the tires a little better by doing another balance, but still- I hated them. Maybe if I used them for the track I'd feel differently.

Wow, thanks for all the feedback guys! I'm about to order, is the road hazard program worth it? It's about $16 a tire.

Just got my Pole Positions and installed them earlier this week...all I can say is AMAZING grip over my old Toyo Proxes!!

In the rain the car is a whole lot more controllable, and in the dry they make the car a blast to carve up the corners. Highly recommended, get them before they run out!
