well you probably could... you probably would have to do some custom fitting or brackets.... since brembo makes a kit for the 8 you might be able to find the same caliper on a different model... idk.. prob still cost about the same in the end though

All i really wanted was some color and didnt really know the best way to go about it, thats why i posted askin about a cover of some kind, then after lookin into it i'll probably end up painting them but was only hesitant to do so because i didnt want to see the 'roughness' of the stock calipers thats why i figured covers so itd have a smooth look etc, of course it'd be better to get the real thing but like ivory said dont really have that available etc

I appreciate all the feedback and input and info on calipers in general, was helpful and im glad i asked before goin ahead and getting something that would look bad but the only thing i thought that got annoying was all the 'epic fail' stuff idk personally that just sounds stupid you can't just say 'that wouldnt be a good idea because .....' etc idk just my opinion never understood that phrase

Anyway i'd like to hear some opinions on what color to paint the calipers, i am lookin to get black rims and was thinkin of painting them red but then also thought maybe silver as red is very common, what do you think?

Paint your calipers and rotor hubs black. You can get caliper paint kits that include everything you need.

Black hubs and calipers is the way to go. No need to call attention to stock parts.

Good point, and i was thinking about putting 'RX-8' on them, what color would be good on the black then? Red or silver/grey?

Caliper covers are total fail IMHO. Either get the real ones or don't get them at all. You know what they say... "Go big or go home."

Some people are swapping the 350Z/G35 Brembos on, and now since they are not hte latest gen models you should be able to pick them up for cheap...

say what.... no what would they fit i mean how much of a bolt on would it be my gf old g35 didnt look like they would fit but it was at a glance i never stared at them to see anyone have a thread on that type of swap for stealing them of a old Z or g35.... that would be kind of a fun little project as long as there isnt a ridiculous amount of fabrication to do

That's what I did. They were done 3-4 years ago and still look great. No signs of wear whatsoever. Plus I get compliments on them all the time.

thread resurrection. Why would you be hesitant about painting them yourself? You can do the work easily enough by removing each wheel individually and painting with a brush. You can also use the can and tape areas you may be concerned about overspray wise.

I use the brush based kits... super easy to do. I've done black and silver on my Tit and prefer silver... very sharp, especially if you clean up the rotor a little at the same time like suggested previously.

It's no different than owners who slam their car on the bumpstops or let their pants hang below their butt.
