Brake Caliper Covers

I am trying to find brake caliper covers for my car but anytime i find a site that have caliper covers they have ones for all different makes and models but not Mazda and was just wondering if anyone knew of where i could find caliper covers for my 8

Thanks for any help

lokaldisruption 07-06-2009 12:03 AM

ebay has em in red but i think like 40dollars or more=/

SympleMan523 07-06-2009 12:11 AM

Ya was lookin for red ones and will look on ebay still just wonderin if there's an actual company that i can get them from rather than just over ebay etc but definitley will look there thanks

rodjonathan 07-06-2009 12:32 AM

yea ive only seen em on ebay

SympleMan523 07-06-2009 07:45 AM

Found the ones on ebay but was lookin to have a custom word on it if i could, probably just RX - 8 or Mazda but just something i can choose rather than Brembro etc but if it has to be that way thats fine but would like to make it custom

I found a site that you can get them from and customize word etc but like i found before doesnt have Mazda, is there a chance that another makes brake caliper covers would fit on an RX8? I know its better to get ones made for RX8 but wonder if that'd be possible?

Site i found was http://www.calipercovers.com

Honestly, I think every brake caliper cover I have seen looks pretty cheesy (no offense to the car in the picture intended). I love the blue of these covers, but they just don't actually cover the caliper itself. I truly believe you are much better suited simply buying a G2 or Duplicolor kit and painting them.

What the EPIC FAILURE is going on in this thread??? :icon_no2: That is probably in my top 5 things NOT to do to an 8.

I'm only knocking it because damn it man, cheap crap like this doesn't belong on our cars - save up some cash, get the real thing - otherwise just paint them.

pdxhak 07-06-2009 03:36 PM

LOL WTF??? This thread has to be a total joke right?!

c41250n 07-06-2009 03:44 PM

please DO NOT do it!!

caliper covers are great. they keep dust off the caliper, and also help air flow over the calipers so they don't get too cool (which hurts stopping). Also no tape, glue, paint or special tools required. Nothing sucks more than having to tape your calipers in place. You don't know how many car doors, fenders, roofs have fallen off my car due to double sided tape getting loose due to the summer heat. I guess you guys from Canada don't have that problem. Overall, do it now! It's super krad awesome.

ps: I noticed throttle response increasing.

Personally, Id spend the $$ on a giant type R badge and maybe some NOS stickers... now those are some good performance mods

*edit* ok, that was kinda mean... IMHO, painting them would look better & be cheaper anyway

I don't think all the flaming is necessary, but really TC, it's not a very good use of your money to buy these caliper covers (especially the ridiculous prices at that cover website). They simply do not look good. You may be able to fool some people with them, but for the most part, it will make you look pretty silly.

Seriously, go spend less money on a painting kit - it looks better, costs less, and can actually be kind of a fun project.

Come on you think we can take this thread seriously? The covers are a joke.

+1 Caliper covers just make no sense to me... :dunno:

Just save up and get the real deal!!!

unless you're planning to track, just paint the stock calipers. one G2 kit and an hour of your time will result in very nice looking calipers for under 50 bucks.

If you're looking to improve braking, go with aftermarket pads.

Pads > rotors > calipers is the order of replacement to improve braking.

Brake Covers are a horrible FAIL, and make you like a total tool bag,,,,

Razz1 07-10-2009 04:23 PM

It perfect for the rice BOY!

ivory8 07-10-2009 09:36 PM

i can understand where most of the users here are coming from....but i dont think many of us have 1-2k to drop on a small detail like a caliper. i wonder if you could get a used caliper off a crashed STI or evo or something......

don't hate
