ON Brake help

I need to change the brake pads on my 8 and I was prepared to do so but when I went to pick up my parts, the parts dealer told me to make sure I twist the caliper piston when resetting it. I've never heard this before. will I damage my calipers by pushing them in or do I have to slowly twist them back into position?

The rear pistons need to be screwed back in. You can't push them. There is a tool you can buy at Canadian tire that takes a 3/8 socket on one end and a selection of piston shaped grips on the other. Works well for doing the rear pistons.

The fronts are regular, no screwing needed.p

You can also rent the rear brake caliper tool for free from a lot of auto parts stores with a deposit.
They're a little tricky, you have to screw in the piston and unscrew the tool at the same time so it doesn't jam.
It's also a good idea to loosen the bleeders so you don't force the fluid back through the valving of the brake system.
