I love this thread! original reason I want to switch my wheels.

FWIW for every thread I reply in there were two dozen prior ones where I said WTF to myself before getting aggravated to the point of venting with a post.

I am right under your nose more often than you realize ...

FYI a widely common joke is that miatas are gay bromandude. just now seeing this post but holy **** lol. on clubroadster we overly use our :homo: icon and its a widespread joke. i thought everyone knew that people call miata drivers gay, i was making a joke at my own expense.

ps:wide wheels +1 and wide tires that are sticky as hell(rs3) +1 = 2 (me)

why 2 sets of wheels?
because race car.

I almost bought a set of 18x11 wheels, but thought that would be overkill until a future FI conversion. I don't want to mod the fenders prior to going there ....

Are ypu tubbing it? Lol, some subie owners who track mini tub it (because they want normal flush wide wheels) but also notch their frame because their axle hits frame when lowered)

phren, you don't have to explain. I knew exactly what you meant. I have just seen too many decent gay people suffer physical and spiritual injustice. You may be too insensitive or blind to the harm that is being passed off as a "joke". Despite the quick conclusion that small minded members here jump to regarding my "h8r" status, it is time to realize that this type of insensitivity is no different than the examples I gave. I apologize for using your post as the springboard for my feelngs after coming across several similar references. Unless you are still in the 9th grade, then don't act like it

Tubbing is for drag racers the right offset and some slight fender flaring and 11s with the proper wide tires will fit.

Some people think that by jacking the offset out they are "improving" their handling. A wider track improving handling only applies to a suspension that has been designed to be wider with the proper geometry. Simply jacking the wheel offset is not the same thing. Life is not that simple.

^i know, but im just stating what I saw and why it was done. The axle travel on the bug-eye subies suck. Maybe he tubbedit for that same reason of what you said about a wider suspension/wider wheels? Gah dunno.
