you can build one for about 300 bucks actually, there's rtr's and ebay which has a wealth of used ones, mine's an HPI Sprint 2, I paid 100 bucks for the chassis that came with an AE86, I spent 80 bucks on a traxxas brushless motor, and about 70 bucks on a Venom lipo battery. My car would run for about 30-45 minutes and was way more than adequate for sliding around, actually it was way overpowered......which is why I went with a larger motor and beefier battery
Seriously though, it doesn't take much, feel free to pm me if anyone really wants to get one, the Rx8 body only costs about 20 bucks, and it's not too difficult to paint them since they come with all the masking and the outside is wrapped to protect from overspray. (They're clear bodies you paint inside out)
My latest thing is scale rock crawling, we have a greenbelt here that runs along barton creek, which is dried up in parts and nothing but rough terrain/rocks, I have a tiny jeep cherokee with a roof rack, lights that work, it's crazy fun picking a place you don't think it will go and then driving right through it I made a vid of my friend's, it's kinda' crappy as I didn't know
how to use my iPhone, gives you an idea at least

That's good to know, the car looks like something I'd see on the street so seeing that mongo wing on there just reminds me of all the morons running around with fwd cars and similar wings on their cars, makes it to easy to forget it's actually a race car with an actual purpose behind it etc.

I had 275's on my 18's before I sold them, looked mean as hell, tried to run them on my Work's after replacing the tiny 255's, no bueno so I had to go with 265/30, I'd love to run a wider tire still but the 265 seems to work fine, maybe I could go 275/25 if they made it

it would be necessary if I went up another size, a 275 30 would have a slightly larger sidewall and more width than what I have now and rub pretty much constantly, only reason it wouldn't at this time is because of my air ride, if I was still on springs/shocks those tires would be toast, my current offset lets me go as big as 265 30, or possibly 255/35, anything larger than that and it won't clear which is why I was kidding around about a 275/25 since that might actually fit I've already worn down the fender insides as it is now anyway so maybe a 275/30 might work now too
edit: I'm at 19x9.5 +29 in the rear, my fronts seem to have plenty of room, I ran a 255/30 up there for a few weeks waiting for tires I ordered to come in and had no issues whatsoever, they're 19x8.5 +36
