08 sti wheels will not fit rx8

i just found out this by the hard way.

i got some 08 sti wheels, the 5 spokes one. they look just like the rx8 wheels. i needed because one of my wheel was leaking air so i got those sti wheels for really cheap.

the lug pattern and offset everything fits well. BUT one thing i forgot was the hub. the hub does not fit on the rx8. sti has a smaller hub. so darn it.

dont make the same mistake, so i guess no subaru wheels on rx8

Bring them to a machine shop and have them enlarge the hubs.

Its only off like 1mm, 66.1 vs 67.1. A little sandpaper and you will be in business.

Subarus are actually 56.1. Getting rid of 11mm with sandpaper wouldn't be that fun Having a machine shop bore it out would be his best option and I know a few people who have done it with no issues.

The 5 spoke STI wheels are pretty damn heavy at 26lbs for an 8.5in wide rim, but if you got em cheap and like how they look I suppose it's worth it to bore em out.

Yep, you are right, I was thinking of another application. Use a router.
