I am fairly new to my 8, trying to learn about it. When/how do i know when i need to change my brake fluid?? When i am driving and braking, sometimes it seems that the brakes are really slow to work, i have to push the brake pedal all the way to the floor at times just to stop. is this a hint?

could be air in your lines or your pads are worn out.

Air and pad wear aside, which sounds like the case anyway, brake fluids are generally highly hygroscopic. Change them when they look sufficiently darker than they were when flushed. Depending on the fluid the timeframe varies from 6months to 2years approx.

No way the pedal should reach the floor!
Get your brakes repaired before you have safety issues.

You can change fluid yourself; Get some speed bleeders, fluid and a friend and the job is very easy.

Check your pads while the wheels are off.

Flushing brake fluid should be the same as a non-abs car?
Just had to ask, none of my other cars ever had abs.

I just mean, are there any "special" steps to take when you have abs (example: remove abs fuse or something to that extent). I've done many brake flushes in the past, just none with abs. I know about starting with the brake that's furthest away from the reservoir already, the "Clockwise" part is a first though.... I always did it in this order: RR, LR, RF, LF.
