Thought mine did not work but was watching a vid. i recorded of the revcounter & realised I could just hear a faint high pitched beep in the background . No way is it loud enough to hear normally .
how loud is your beep and what sort of noise does it make ?

Mine is loud enough that I hear it whenever it goes off. As long as the stereo isn't up to "11" at the time. If my memory of the tone serves me the pitch is a B natural.

the catless midpipe you have will dampen the sound as well, especially at WOT. i have a hard time hearing mine and i only have a magnaflow catback. next time try easing it up toward the red. somewhere after 8k it will come in.

IMHO, the beep is not NEARLY loud enough. I don't want to even tell you how many times the rev limiter cut in during my track time at Road America during MRR (https://www.rx8club.com/midwest-rotary-rally-86/mrr-great-97347/) this year. This damn car just sounds SOOOO good as the revs climb that you don't ever want to shift!! ( It couldn't be that my 50 something ears just can't hear that beep? Naahhh. Couldn't be.)

You can hear it on this video whenever he goes above 8500 rpm. It's quiet but it's there. Stereo on or window open will drown it out.

i reckon the best place would be a small led at the top of the tach to the right. would like nice and subtle. You could always screw a monster tach to the dashboard, real classy lol
I have heard that it is really hard to put a shift light in, I think you have to solder into the circuit board which doesn't sound easy and costly to fix if you screw it up. I know i've read something on here about it
