Is there a link between OMP and ignition via limp mode?
I am not getting any spark at my plugs. The coils have power, they are new but I have tried other working ones with the same results. I have checked the harness from the ecu for connectivity all good. Crankshaft position sensor is working I have an rpm signal at the ECU.
The loose end I'm curious about is the Metering oil pump position sensor. I took it off the MOP for clearance, left it connected to the harness and ziptied it out of my way. Figured I'm premixing anyway so just wanted to avoid getting a code for it not being plugged in. Have read about MOP failures causing a limp mode. Is it possible that sensor being off (or potentially reading an incorrect position as it is still plugged in) is causing the ECU to go into protect and kill ignition to not start?
Cheers
