TX Steering issues in the mornings

Hi,
I have seen a few other postings on power steering issues but i'm not sure this issue falls in the same category,

over the colder months in texas i have had trouble to turn the wheel when i first start the car in the morning. It feels as though the power steering is out. However as soon as i have turned the wheel completely to full lock on either side, the problem is gone and everything is fine. This occurs morning after morning.

over this past christmas i have let the car sit for 3 weeks. when i got back in it for the first, the issue was still there however it took a good 10 minutes of driving around the block before i could say it was back to normal.

Any ideas what is going on?

if it is any coincidence i have the engine coolant light come first thing in the morning but soon goes out after 5 mins.

Thanks
Tom

What have you done to fix the EPS problem? For the coolant sensor; first top off your coolant to the MAX level and monitor it. The sensor has the tendency to get stuck with grime, specially if you have an older RX-8.
