So you'll only get firing from L1 and L2 .... sorry I should have mentioned that.

Yes get 4 new coils, however its seems to coincidental that this is happening at the same time you ran out of fuel.
Okay so I think I ran out of fuel im not sure, I did say I put 5$ in which is almost 2 gal when my light came on.

Why is it coincidental, do you think its something a little bit more serious? What are your thoughts?

OH ... ok I thought you absolutely knew you ran it out of fuel.

So my mistake.

And yes having only one lead plug firing is going to make things hard to start/run

Just to clarify there is still a POSSIBILITY it ran out of fuel. I don't see why it would have though although i was running low, from now on i will use the 1/4 tank=empty rule just to be on the safe side.

Quick update/Question.

Question 1: What were u thinking was making it coincidental that i ran out of fuel, Just so i can be sure to test these theory's as well.

Question 2: Do you have any suggestions on a coil/wire set for 04 year 6spd manual TM's? i'm going to be looking around the forums here to find some but if you know any let me know.

Statement/thought: I also wanted to let you know not only do i have a AP but my car is tuned to be faster and run better by mazdamaniac. I'm thinking Maybe running this tune the last month has done significant wear and tear on already needing to be replaced coils and wires which could have caused a malfunction. I was running the stock map for the car prior to tuning it maybe a month or 2 back. As a thought, think this could have anything to do with it?

Once again thanks!!

1). I was thinking that running out fuel killed the fuel pump and we just happened to figure out your coils are old and weak and need replacing as well.

2). The forum has great vendors.
Mazmart, BHR and Race Roots are my favorites.
Stick with the OEM coils unless you have the cash to by the BHR coil kit. I'm not sure the BHR kit is worth the extra cash in your case.

3) highly highly highly doubt Jeff's tune had anything to do with your current situation

Hey buddy,

1.)Yeah i see what your saying about jeffs tune. Just a thought. Uhm i just ordered the OEM NGK coil and wire set. That should do the trick. It was hard to find a set without the plugs though.

2.) well anyway they needed replacing so, if it doesn't work then i know where to go next, FUEL issues. Preciate the advice on where to buy some parts.

3.) any idea where to find a nice fuel pump if i need it, Im famalier with how to change it and there are some great DIY's on here.

Thanks.

3. Re-read wcs's last post. He mentioned vendors he liked. I'm sure you'll find one or more of them with a few items you'll probably need.

Wink Update!!!!

Hey guys, huge update of my progress so far!!

I want to give a HUGE shout out to everyone in this post - especially WCS.

1.) I have replaced the coils, coil bracket, wires, and plugs - I have now a spark going to my engine. Unfortunatly like i was told it was coincidental this happened when i ran out of fuel. My car would still not start.

2.) i did some fuel testing, It turns out the pump is fried. Does not make a noise at all. I removed the back seat, and metal plate to uncover this fact. I ordered a new fuel pump. It should be here today. I'm anxious to see if this works ( i miss my baby)

3.) I bought a new clutch pedal assembly (as mine was sticking to the floor and i would have to pull it up with my foot.)

4.) i have taken pictures out the *** and will be posting them all here for people to see, as well as making a DIY on fuel pump removal/instalation - Coils and wires with a wiring diagram, and how to remove/replace the coil bracket (for broken bolts)

Thanks!!!!!

Okay... so it turns out its not the fuel pump??

I installed the new one and it seems to not initiate either. Makes no noise at all. At this point im thinking maybe its electrical. I checked the fuses they seem fine.. I will be taking a voltometer to the relay when i get home...

I'm out of solutions... i've hit a wall and it hurts... in my pocket/heart </3

Thanks.

Check/buy a new fuel relay as you mentioned

Have you double check connections on:

ESS connection
Maf connection
Spark Plugs wire to Coil installation
TB Connection

Changing gears a bit ... I'm curious as to how you were able to remove/install the fuel pump without the special tool used to remove the huge plastic circular clamp/nut contraption.

I found it damn near impossible without borrowing a special tool from Ray at BHR.

ESS connection - yes
Maf connection - yes
Spark Plugs wire to Coil installation - triple checked
TB Connection - Yes

I took it to the dealership for a diagnoses.

They told me some relay's were bad and some fuses shorted and my PCM could be bad (they said thats highly unlikely though) They also said i had some bad grounds causing a no fuel issue. They capped the repairs and diagnoses at 250$. they were able to get it running, and are puttting it threw some tests today to make sure its not the pcm.

I also found out if its engine related aswell, my engine is still covered under warrenty, for another 8 months!! or 12k miles.

So they will replace it for free, now thats awesome.

To answer your question about the fuel pump, i used a rubber mallet and a rubber soft end chissel and pounded the **** out of it. if u distribute the force = to the little tabs, they will not break with the rubber mallet / chisel. I have tons of pics and video's on everything i have done if you are interested, i will post them.

I want to anyway just to show people how things were done such as changing the coil bracket if u break a bolt, or even just wiring the car correctly ETC.

Hey so i'm not sure if you already got your car from the dealer and payed for whatever "work" they did on it. But! my 8 died on me not too long ago and it kept flooding like yours is. To troubleshoot the problem i checked the basics
-Gas Line
-Air Compression
-Spark plugs

All of those were fine but it was still flooding. long story short i eventually found out that my Catallitic Converter was clogged and that's why it kept flooding (because nothing could escape the motor). So maybe before you spend money you may want to check that out as well.
Anyways GOODLUCK!
