Side/ Corner Seals flush against rotor

Hello everyone,

I just dismantled my engine because I had apex seal failure. Long story short, most of my side seals and corner seals, on the rotor which lost the apex seal, are flush against rotor. Aside from the apex seals which turned into shrapnel, the reaming apex seals are jammed in.

What causes this?

The rotor was damaged and the channel the side seals sit in, got pinched. But I would need to see more pics to be sure.

I was under the impression it was common for side seals in renesis to jam, if a piece snapped off that could had destroyed apex seals, or vice versa

I have only seen it happen once and it was in an engine that was completely destroyed because the kid kept driving it even after it was making horrible noises. Amazingly it even drove (sounding like diesel with no exhaust) off the tow truck into the garage. It's funny too because other engines that were not completely destroyed would not even run at all.

I think you're right. I'll post more pics later on in case people are interested.
