^^ then your engine is most likely healthy and you really don't need a new one. ALTHOUGH, when your engine's warranty is close to expiring (8 years, 100,000 miles, I'd recommend a compression test just to be safe)

Look into the engine cleaning procedure DIY that nycgps put up, the Automatics have a tendency to build up lots of carbon. Getting rid of that carbon is a great way to help the engine last longer.

I have had the engine replaced at 60,800 miles. The long start time is a symptom of the low compression. The second symptom was 0-60 in 15 seconds...yes 15 seconds. I like my sports cars to be thrilling, but not because I am pulling out into traffic and I may not make it!
Go to the second dealership, You will probably have to prove that you have been changing oil regularly. keep the synthedic oil part to your self. 3 words. Deny, deny, deny.
Good luck.

alright so here is whats going on I argued with the tech ( bad move) got kicked out of service. So after a couple of days The tech told me he was keepin the R/O open and to put my car back to stock and he would then report it to Mazda. but when I he told me the previous day That he was gonna srew me with the engine ( I'll get you your engine and once Mazda test's the oil you'll see that you voided your warranty and you will have to pay) SOME B/S HUH... SO I'm gonna go back to stock change my oil and hope for the best

Show him the owner's manual? The manual does not prohibit synthetic oil.

My car is at this time in Riley's Mazda (Stamford) took it there yesterday complaining about loss of power and a muted exhaust tone.. called them today and they told me rotor#2 has low compression, theyr going to do a TSB to c if its carbon buildup, if not then I guess im getting a rebuilt engine..
So far Im happy with their service
