RX8 Warranty help!!!!

OK I stated in my prevoius thead that my 8 is gonna need an engine because it failed the compression test. Now Mazda is saying that they will not honor the warranty because I didn't use regular oil. I have syntethic oil in it. Is this true Can Mazda not replace my engine???Someone please help me out on this.

nycgps 10-23-2008 09:59 AM

u're in ny, which dealership have u been to ?

if u have receipt of ur oil and stuff, there is no reason for them to deny ur warranty claim.

You can sue them for it and u'll win.

invasion08 10-23-2008 10:22 AM

Thats BS. Which dealer did you go too?

blowinup 10-23-2008 10:23 AM

Adzam Mazda in westchester county. and thanks that tread has some real good knowledge in it

nycgps 10-23-2008 01:37 PM

Have you talk to MNAO yourself?

Because I have a feeling that the dealership was trying to rip you off with the install.

Bring the car somewhere else. Maybe Wayne Mazda. ITs a long drive, but its worth it.

blowinup 10-23-2008 01:42 PM

I haven't talk to MNAO. I'll call them hopefully I can get some answers

blowinup 10-25-2008 01:44 PM

OK so their not gonna replace my engine and now my engine take awhile to start. techs said its because its cold outside. My engine cranks for about 5-7 sec before it starts anyone got a clue on this

Jedi54 10-25-2008 01:54 PM

denying warranty work because you used synthetic is B.S. do you have a printout of the compression test?
Call MNAO and talk to them or go to the dealership NY recommended. YES, it might be a long drive but for a new engine, I'm sure you can make the tiem

blowinup 10-26-2008 07:15 PM

I'm gonna have to fight with them to get the compression test print out.. But I will get them how is wayne mazda and there service

blowinup 10-26-2008 07:35 PM

Whats the number for MNAO??

alnielsen 10-26-2008 07:36 PM

ROFL. 5-7 seconds ? maybe for the OLD version starter. but I think my old starter can start my car in less than 5 seconds. maybe 2-3 seconds I think.

my car has the new version starter from 3 yrs ago and my car starts within 1-2 seconds.

tell that tech to kiss my ass.

Synthetic oil has nothing to do with your problem. if they want to argue, I can send you link to Mazda Japan's page, which sells Full Synthetic oil, Yep, Mazda Selling Full Synthetic oil for Rotary engines.

Flashwing 10-27-2008 12:15 AM

Did the dealership have the oil tested? I'm assuming the oil issue came up because you said you were running sythetic oil. There's no way to easily identify the oil you're using because of the breakdown that occurs during driving.

Sadly, I've heard similar stories. A fellow Mazdaspeed Protege owner had his engine replacement denied under warranty because his oil "smelled funny" to the technician.

I'd contact Mazda HQ and speak with someone there.

alz0rz 10-27-2008 01:23 AM

I'd like to see what comes of this in terms of them completely negating the warranty because of synthetic.

I recommend Wayne Mazda but at this point they probably branded your warranty anyway.

ZumnRx8 10-27-2008 01:33 AM

what the heck is a compressiong test (obviously something with the engine)? when is it done? and how? does the dealer do it everytime>? can someone explain so i can understand?

Spinning Sushi 10-27-2008 01:39 AM

A compression test is when you get a can of compressed air and shoot it into the intake manifold to clean out the dirt like you do on a dirty computer keyboard. You can also turn the can up-side-down and shoot out freezing fluids into your intake and it will be just like NOS and give you a +10whp gain.

snowflakes 10-27-2008 01:44 AM

Hey man, just read the post and that really is a whole bunch of bullcrap, especially because of oil -.-" ...But Im talking from first hand experience since i had my warranty voided by Mazda because of an intake and I was not granted a new motor. and still no motor.... >:/

but i suggest you do not contact MNAO just yet. I would stop by a few Dealers first and see what your warranty status is at other dealers.
See if you can work something out and explain what happened~
And i Also wished i went to Wayne Mazda for my problem.. =X BlaHh!

but anyways, see if they will help you out in any means possible. Maybe them Calling Customer Warranty Specialists. if everything is granted by them then you are good to go. but if all else fails contact MNAO/ but i personally didnt like my experience with MNAO since they weren't trying to help me too much, just a run around.

good luck and hope you get a new motor because these assracks need to start taking the responsibilites of there unlucky rx8 owners.

be easy.

Wow that sucks i had that problem with the dealership i just complained a lot to them and they didnt want to give me a new motor because i didnt have anything to prove that i kept up with my car but i found a few reciepts and i was like i would hate to get my lawyer involved the next day they called me and said my new motor was on its way they said that if it was up to them they would of put one in right away but it was up to corporate but def call mnao and complain hardcore

nycgps 10-27-2008 08:08 AM

Yep, for big repairs like motor/tranny/and some other replacements, they first need approval from Mazda Tech Line. Which suck, cuz Mazda Tech Line people doesnt know shit about cars. They said my clutch pedal broke because of aftermarket clutch, my ass.

ZumnRx8 10-27-2008 01:11 PM

yeah i did google it....im gonna get one at next service so that maybe ill get lucky and get a new motor.

I8U 10-27-2008 01:34 PM

Dude, you need to just get rid of your car. For one, it's an automatic, two you don't know anything about it, and three...well I can't come up with a three right now but the first two should be enoug for now. lol

are you experiencing loss of power? Does the motor die at random intervals?
If not, no new engine for you.

ZumnRx8 10-27-2008 01:45 PM

2. no loss of power.

3. motor does not die at random intervals.
