rx8 going to shop tommorrow for sputtering should i ask for certain test?

hello im new to the forum i have a 2004 rx8 6 speed . have had the cat replaced and all recalls done on it . I noticed today when i started it up and was letting it warm up that the engine light was flashing then when i started to drive it was stalling on me is there anything i should ask them to check when i bring it in would realy appreciate the imput thanks

engine compression test, sounds like a faulty engine, how many miles do you have on it?

I have 44426 on it. Im hopeing its nothing serious ive been noticeing the pickup hasnt been the same since the catalitic converter was replaced from the last time it was in shop for engine light.

Is it an Auto or MT?

did you let it warm up? What RPM and speed were you doing when she stalled?

at 44k miles have u changed your plugs yet...might be the problem.

as magikone69 said check your plugs and coil packs. my car sputter around 45k miles and it was plugs and coil packs that needed to be replaced.

it is a manual transmission and i dont think they have been changed unless it was done on the recall i bought the car a year ago in florida. i appreciate all the imput ill ask them to check that tommorrow. and see if they can do a compression test just to make sure

i let it warm up almost half way then when i pulled out in reverse it started to sputter first time it ever happened to me so i parked started it again and then it seemed to be fine on the ride home

I wanted to thank every one for the help got my car back from the dealer today they gave it a tune up changed the plugs and wires . seems to be running good now. Hopefully now i can start fixing it up.
