Ok so I installed the BHR ignition kit and wow what a difference. Runs like a beast once running hot. K&N filter and a knocked out cat as well. Excellent performance. However i still get a ton of white smoke soon after cold start if i apply the gas and then let off. Also the behavior and sound of the engine is rich. Its a throaty, poppy, smelly 5 minutes or so of operation right after startup. Power seems muted until the richness clears up. What is this and how do I fix it? Oil consumption is also high, but the smoke is purely white. No loss of coolant. Hard hot start. Thanks!

 

The ECU supplies extra fuel when the engine is cold...that is normal.

You will get a rich smelly exhaust without a CAT

How is your compression? A new ignition will not fix compression related issues

Read around about dwell settings with other than stock coils
