rat ate the rx8....
after letting the car sitting in the garage for vacations, a rat found a nice place under the intake manifold to make it's nest, the damn thing ate the whole injector harness, and even some connectors here are the pics:

After rebuilding the whole thing with heat shrink, and making some magic inserting new wires into the connectors, i reassembled the intake manifold (cleaned injectors as well), but the car won't start, luckily one fuse was blown so replaced it and brooom, only know the car runs like crap, bouncing idle and seemly on hard acceleration only one rotor is working, and it's stinks raw fuel at the back. After having a hard time trying to figure out what was the problem, i desperately actuated the vaccum at the secondary shutter, surprisingly this almost solved the problem, idle was quite smooth and now both rotors seem to work fine. I believe i have mixed up the injector connectors but i can't find any accurate information on how to properly connect them, mitchell on demand specifies 2 "high power injectors" (i believe those are the red ones), two primary injectors (two of the four yellow injectors) and two secondary injectors (the rest of the yellow injectors i believe). I wonder if any of you guys can give me a hand??

WOW, you can't imagine how much i dig up the forum looking for something close to that, i'm pretty sure i've hooked the injectors wrong, i'm going to disassembly the intake and take a look, thanks buddy!

Ouch!
While you are under the hood, check to make sure that rat bastard didn't store food. Look in your air filter box, heater/AC fresh air intake, etc.
I once pulled a heater box assembly out from under the dash to troubleshoot the customer's complaint of the heater fan not pushing air. Found it packed full with dog food... and a dead mouse.

I know it is a bit late now, but the next time you leave your car for any length of time get a product called "just one bite". leave a generous portion in the engine bay (may have to replace every now then depending on the number of rodents) and scattered in corners around the garage. Rats love it and they don't even smell when they die. Just remove it from the engine bay (if there is any left) when you get ready to use the car. It has saved several of my vehicles from rodent damage in the past. I have never found the rats, but the poison is always gone. Really good stuff. I keep it in the shed, attic and in the house. Be careful where you put it if you have children.
