I got in my car the other day with my Infrared Temp Gun, and the steering wheel was 154 degrees. This is under the windshield shade.

On another note the car is still getting hot in stop and go traffic. It was 109 and I was not moving for about 5 then slow stop and go traffic for about 15 minutes. I watched the temps climb on the AP from 201 to 234.
So the problem is not cooling when driving, it is cooling when still.
So I stopped at the dealer and told them, they called the engineer and he might come back out with a fellow engineer from Japan.
I showed Karl my personal tech lol, the AP as I was sitting in the shaded drive. If you rev it to 1500 rpm you can watch the temp rise at about 2 degrees every 10 seconds. It went form 199 to 220 in about 2 minutes.
I think things are getting serious.

Haven't you looked at my avatar?
And we don't know what is happening inside the engine at this point.

114? holy ****.

Its 90 today, I feel "ok", still be able to live with just a Fan in my room, anything higher will have to turn my AC on (I can use it now, but electric bills raise like 10-20% compared to last year so ...)

Just came back from replacing the Thermostat, damn that housing is a bitch to get it off.

Oh I notice some Black-ish stuff on the Secondary air injector. Are those carbon or some crap from the exhaust or whatever ? I took it out and I was like "wtf these black stuff came from", it almost clogged the whole opening. and the Air injector itself is totally coated with those black stuff. " ahhh I will start another thread with pics

yep just exhaust soot.
Speed Source backs off when their temps get to 235.
NOTHING is going to cool this hotass beerbarrel without the appropriate amount of airflow related to your systems cooling capacity.

I have a pair of those, too, but the Pumas are better shoes - especially if you have to work the track as well as drive.
Standing in the Pilotis is pretty excruciating after a few minutes.

114F = 45C . It's insane that people even live in a climate like that . Imagine if you had a power cut for a day where would you go to cool off ?

Well you get into the pool, and another things.

We lost power in a summer about 5 years ago, for about 4 days. Just our block, not the whole town.

Lost water pressure too, since that was pump provided.

Was pretty miserable. Kids went to grandmas for a couple of days.

Didn't move around a lot. Work provided A/C for the worst of it.

Its cooled down. Its only 43°C right now.
Of course, its 17:00.

The pool is critical. I don't see how people live here without one.
Since the humidity is only 3% today, I could run the evaporator cooler on inverter current for a while if I needed to and it would do the trick.

that reminds me of the time my daughters' headmaster ask me to investigate the heat problem in one of the classrooms . When I went in there it was like going into a sauna . I discovered they had bought an evaporative cooler and were running it flat out with all the windows closed . It must have been over 90% humidity and 30 deg C in there .....

Evaporate coolers get less and less efficient as they do their thing in a closed room.
Some people don't understand the principle, so they keep pushing it and it gets more and more humid and less and less comfortable.
They really work their best in an open garage.

At least you have the garden hose if the car gets too hot, not that yours does...

I don't know what old farts like you are talking about. You've only got me by a year, and my feet love my Pilotis... albiet the Nomex lined ones do get a little toasty at times

This thing might?? have worked alittle. My fan(I have the Mazda Sport Fan Mod) does not run as long after driving home from work and our temps has also been hotter(90's).

Now I'm thinking on making my whole front grill openning work.

Argh. my battery got killed by the heat ! Well not quite sure about that as stock Mazda battery suck *** anyway. 08/05/2008 will be its 2nd yr servicing my car. yep, the battery isnt even 2 yrs ago and its already dead Trying to see which brand to go for. probably Optima ? or Just go cheap and get Duralast from Autozone.

when I install my CAI and Rad, I took the air box heat shield away. Radiator can go lower temp much faster like this. but it also increased the intake temp. as the hot air directly blowing the CAI piping.

I put the sheild back in place so the hot air wont come up

see what happens.
