Occasional cold start issue

Hello, so twice this week I had a cold start issue. The car usually starts and idle's 2k and as it warms up goes down to 1.5k then to 1k. I had some severe sputtering twice this week on cold start and the idle didnt slowly go down like normal. It was more like hunting and as the motor sputtered dropped down to 1k. Felt like it was going to die.

History: plugs, wires, coils changed 10k ago as well as cleaning of the TB and MAF. Only engine related mods are straight pipe and catback. I cant tell if its throwing a CEL because I have a CEL from my midpipe.

Had quarter of a tank at time of start up so it wasnt starving. Driving around is normal.

Thanks guys.

I doubt its throwing a code because its fine after the initial cold start in the morning. Starts up right away even when the problem arises.

It is happening more often now. When the RPM dips it seems to only do it when the air pump would be on normally. Normal driving I do get small RPM dips but I learned to live with it because I couldnt find the cause of it. I have never heard of a cold start issue like this so im puzzled.

here is a little video, you can hear my exhaust sputtering and popping a little. Ill get a better one up later with the RPM dipping really low and engine almost dying.

also forgot to mention my VFAD was missing when I bought the car, I capped it at the UIM.

once I get my OEM cat on im having the dealer inspect her and possibly doing a compression check.

Yeah quite similar. My car never use to do that at all, just one or two sputters and thats it. Only thing is right when shes started she idle's 2k. 5 to 10 seconds into idling the idle dips all the way to 900, maybe even lower than 900 and stays there until I rev it up a little to keep it from dying.

sputters like crazy when it dips idle that low on cold start. Then after I Rev it goes to normal warming up idling.

Ill record tomorrows cold start in the morning.
