No Heat

Just bought an 04 last week, and noticed the heat wasn't hot. All the temperatures are reading right, but it doesn't get hot. I talked to a guy, and he said to flush the heater core. Has anyone else had the problem? Is there another way to fix it?

Thanks, that helped for the passenger side, but no heat for the drivers side.

No driver side vent at all? (windshield, left next to the steering wheel, left of the two center, driver's footwell)

Heat on one side and not the other sounds like it would be a problem with the motor that controls where the heat is sent (buried back under the dash). In theory, it's not possible to block off one side completely from just a mechanical/electrical error, so it's more likely that it's just stuck on a different vent route?

Of course, the prior owner might have screwed something up, or had a kid that jammed something into the vent, or whatnot.

None at all, but these all seem like reasonable causes. As soon as I the time I'll look into it, but thanks for your input.

I've been meaning to flush my heater core all winter... hope to have it done right about the time I won't need it for another 8 or so months.
