mazda says i need $11775 to repair my 8

i took my 8 to the dealer for a diagnostics on what was wrong. note all that happened is i stoped for gas, went 1.5 miles the cel come on and was blinking. i got water in the gas. they said they did a comp. check and i had 0 comp. on the #2 rotor. the car would not run or idel, but they give me the computer read out on the codes and the temps of the cat. which got to 2700 deg.f. they could not show me the comp. readings, the service manager said the tech seen something on the diagnostics about the 0 comp.on rotor #2. is that posible ? to go on futher they said that i need a maf. which i just changed, aftermarket , they have never seen a reman. maf. from o-reilly's. and the after market cat was the reason for my failure. is this possible? and also could it be possible the melted wires that the cat overheated from the excessive fuel, be the cause of the codes of p0037rear ho2sheater control circ. low,p0171 system to lean, p0300 random misfire,p0506 i.a.c.s.rpm lower than expected,p2070, ssv stuck open,p0302, rear rotor misfire. can they determine 0 compression off of the computer read out.

In order to get compression #'s they have to do a specific compression test.

Unlikely to have a 0 reading...even a blown motor will have some....

What's there logic for the water in gas causing the CAT to overheat?

I would be very skeptical about anything they said...sounds kinda funny to me

Your wires melted for the O sensors which sent bad data to the ECU and destroyed your CAT?

Ok, how does that get water into the engine and make it blow up?

I can see the Remanufactured MAF as being a problem as it controls the A/F mixture data. This will be a big issue with Mazda.

So... the MAF made the car too lean and over heat? Then cat destroy and water in engine?

Is this what you are saying?

Seems you're posing 2 separate questions.

Yes, a bad MAF can (and usually will) lead to CAT failure (melting)

Not sure about the water in the gas situation, try to rephrase it more clearly...

83929k. i pumped the tank and got rusty water sample which i saved. i filed complaint w/ tx atty. gen.and waiting on reply.and they never mentioned water in their analysis. i told them about the water.thats why im asking it sound like b.s. to me. the comp. test is b.s. also to me. the maf was replaced after the water problem. the cat was 5 days prior the the water.the car was running fine before i got 7 gals. gas. then just sputtered and died. there is no water in the engine just the fuel.

Can you post the phone number to the service department of the Mazda dealership that claimed 0 compression? I would really like to ask them how 0 compression is even possible... That doesn't make any ******* sense, please give me there phone number, they sound like there bending you over... I would love to give them a piece of my mind, I hate dealerships that treat people like idiots...

11775 yea thats what i told them. i checked with mazmart already reasonable price there. the comp. test i think is b.s. my self too. cause they cant show me the #s. the wires melted are the ones that hook up to the trans. and the o2 sensors.and i dont know where water in the fuel can cause the engine to lose comp. in just one rotor.

First off I think they're totally BS. Unless ALL your apex seals blown which is super ultra ACME unlikely. Well actually even so u SHOULD get some compression.

But there is 2 problems tho. First, why did you get an "reman aftermarket MAF @ O'rellies"? Cuz they can really screw you over because of that. and a Original Mazda part cost about 100 something only. Which is NOT a lot IMO. and they RARELY FAIL. Why did you even change it in the first place ? Who told you that there is a failure on the original part ?

Cat melt ? Thats possible. but if its really reading 2700 degrees that means soemthing is really wrong with ur motor, there should be some early signs before that happen..

And for the Gas station pumping rusty gas. Well, you should try to go back there and get some more samples, then starts calling TV stations and stuff, they love those kind of incidents and will do everything to report it (to get audience)

and if they pull that *aftermarket cause the motor to fail* is totally ******* bs.

11700 to fix everything? how about a nice and loud ***** that ***** to them ? a nice reman from Mazmart is about 2500~3500 depends on the core. if u really had rusty water u should really do what I've said, at least get some attention and try to get some money back.

well considering he used an "oreilly" MAF sensor... Could an engine run so lean to achieve cat temperature's of 2700????

The 0 compression is obviously bullshit.... I just don't understand why you took the risk to get some cheapo oreilly's MAF sensor... I mean, did you know this is a rotary engine? Not like those average American engines that can take a lot of generic parts, our cars are more whiny than some girls in the O.C... Have you seen how much a bitch those girls get without there Fiji water?

Also, can you tell me the guy who told you such bullshit? I mean, I will call them, but I'd rather bitch out the exact idiot who told you those lies... Not the helpless moronic front desk retard...

Edit: I can drop as many f-bombs as I want, I'm an H-town hater
