Just deflooded now car stays at 3000k! what's wrong?

Ok I was driving on the highway in 4th gear dropped down to third and the car slowed down really fast and I tried pressing the gas but got nothing then the revs shot up and dropped again then the car dropped to second gear then jumped back up to 4th all the while I was my getting any peddle response and barley and brake response and the car started reving up and down really fast got to an exit and pulled over couldn't stop on my own so I dropped it into nuetral and hit the brakes!!

Car wouldn't start so I de-flooded and it started up but it revs all the way upto 3k and jus jumps up and down there did 20 break presses And disconnected the battery for 10 min 2 times already and it's still doing it what's wrong

Any CEL's? Sounds like a transmission problem to me...or a throttle problem

Will it let you rev it above 4K?

You have a screen stuck in the throttle body. Check it out.

Don't know why that would be. Is the vacuum line on the brake booster?

The big round black thing that is attached to the back brake fluid reservoir. Look at the hose that comes off of it and goes to the UIM.
Probably not the issue though. But take a look at it anyway.

Ok I put the screen back and everything I good so far tightens it as much as possible till I can get home!

Side not I notice there was only 1 screen and it was bent alot could that b the cause of rough idle

I only used one screen. Never had an issue. But that's just me.
Just straighten the screen out the best you can.

Voice of experience.
Mr. We$t's description is exactely what will happen when the throttle body butterfly is stuck open.
ECU will try to figure out the input from the throttle pedal sensor and throttle position sensor. Of course the position sensor data was all out of sync. Couldn't relate to each other and thus the hunting RPM's.
Call it a conflict of interest.
