Cranks awhile before starting when hot.

Hi everyone, I have used the searchfunction and found a few threads related to this, however it was not really clear.

My 2004 rx-8 manual, with 93,000 miles, and has the orignal starter. It has maintained been well maintained, starts great when cold/left over night. When I drive it to the store after it is at full operating temperature
it always starts but cranks for 2-4 seconds before starting.

The coils, plugs, and cables were changed at 60,000 miles. I realize they are about due, but I was wondering if this was common for this many miles or is this a sign of low compression?

My next question is basically is there a point where you dodge the low compression bullet, but I tend to have read that most cases are most noticeable at 50-60,000 miles. I'm aware there is still a warranty on warranty the car but, I'm unable to provide the receipts for the oil changes, etc. Also the snychros on my 2nd gear don't
work, so I figured they would say it was abused.

Any feedback would be great, thanks in advance.
