I am getting a code for intake runner valve stuck open. The car has 61,000 miles so I'm past warranty but the engine was replaced 3,000 miles ago. I just bought the car and it came this way. I know the new engine came with a 12,000 mile or one year warranty but would the intake have been switched with the new engine and would it be considered part of the engine. I can't spend the money at the dealership right now, I would rather fix it myself and spend the money on my two year old for Christmas. Does anyone know about this problem and how I would go about fixing it. I tried searching and come up with nothing. Thanks alot.

 

Should be covered........take it in....

 

Dealer won't cover it. (what a surprise). Can anyone give me advice? Is it a solenoid or the actual valve? Any help?

 

remove upper intkae manifold. clean carbon off valve with carb sleaner or some such. see if you can work it free. if not replace intake manifold

 

Please, please, please, please, don't replace the intake manifold. If you can't get it un-stuck, send it to me, I'll get it un-stuck for you..
