I think my engine just seized. HELP!!
Hey guys, I need some help here and i and i and i cant match it up with a problem addressed already. I was just driving home, giving it some gas, when i got a CEL and I heard a bang like something slammed under my car, or in the engine bay. The car died immediately. I cranked it, and it turned over for a little while then wouldnt start. After that it wouldnt even turn..The starter whines but cant turn anything..volt gauge says fully charged, jump wont do anything. Did I just seize my engne???? any suggestions? my cars sitting in a lot down the street now ahh. The 8 is a 2005 A/T, no current major mods except HKS intake. Thanks guys

belts look ok..nothing will even turn. even a broken belt i think it would turn over. One other thing, i took my midpipe off and put my cat back on the other day which has been sitting for a few months. A clogged cat or something wont cause this right? I also recently have been dealing with some issues when i put the car in neutral, the battery level drops to the point the car would die. Only if shifted into neutral though when drivng.....It really doesnt seem electrical, all my lights are on and battery is charged.

you guys are the s$#t, thanks for the info.. I knew the engine core was updated to 100,000 but I never looked at the details for the other warrenty coverage. Can anyone verify 40,000 bumper to bumper? Last time I heard that was 30,000... thanks a lot for the help guys, thats what makes this forum so great

I was mousing over this post and hit a green link:
"Briggs & Stratton V-Twin Vanguard OHV Engine with Electric ...
Briggs & Stratton 18 HP Vanguard V-Twin OHV Horizontal Engine. V-Twin 90 overhead valve design runs cooler, cleaner and more efficiently. More HP ..."
But seriously, it sounds like it's carbon locked.
You must not have been running it hard enough.
Let the dealer fix it, you may get an engine.
Do not try this yourself.
The fix is to rotate the engine eshaft backwards slightly to loosen the carbon.
Then back and forth till it passes the stopped place.

i run it pretty hard, thats def a possibility though...
why should I not try that method you described? it may save me from not having a car for a few days since the dealership is closed on weekends... How would I go about rotating that..or should I definitely avoid it..again, THANKS GUYS

remove all mods that might give the dealer an issue. depends on dealer.
call dealer. have car towed in..
let them fix the probem..

Don't "F" around at this point. Take it to the dealer, or have it towed..............you are covered.
Don't be too surprised if the try to BS you. If they do............call Mazda North America.

Mine was brand new and it died in 1 year & 11 months. go figure.
but if your car has NEVER done the Engine No Start TSB. you should be able to get a new battery, faster starter, and spark plugs for free.
