Question help w/ power outlet in center console not working

I was looking today to install a XM radio unit in the center console compartment (as I have the PIE AUX adapter there) and discovered that the power outlet is not working. The one next to the ash tray does work but would need it for the radar detector. Fuses seemed OK - any idea what/where to look for a cause?

Have you ever had the console out? Or has the dealer ever had it out?

Maybe they forgot to connect it.

Thanks, I'll pull the rear console out to check if it is connected. I had the front part out to install the PIE adaptor, maybe something is not set right.

Yes, the ignition was on, the ash tray one was working just fine.

Time to finish the XM install tomorrow

There are two separate fuses for the two power outlets.

just remember don't plug anything with a high load into the ashtray socket...it can't handle lots of amps like the center console one can

also you dont need to remove the center console to access the center console power outlet...just use a flathead screwdriver covered in tap and pop up the piece that holds the outlet...then pull it out...inspect it and you can put it back (considering that removing the back part of the center console takes ALOT more time then the front part of the center console)

Done. The wire harness was never connected to the power outlet (took a while to find it under the console). Everything A-OK now. XM radio rocks!
Thanks, guys.

Easy install? Does the brain fit well in the ash tray pocket? Where did you mount the antenna? I guess the song info is not displayed on the LCD?

Sorry for the Q's....just interested.
