Question Help! Voltage Problem? (P0428)

So my check engine light came on yesterday and after I took the car to autozone for a check engine light diagnosis, the following came up:

OEM Number to Cross: P0428

The PCM has determined that the voltage signal from the catalyst temperature sensor for bank 1 is too high for the current engine operating conditions. (bank 1 identifies the location of cylinder 1, while bank 2 identifies the cylinders on the opposite bank)

Since I am kind of technologically challeneged, I was wondering if anyone could translate that into plain english for me? I am guessing my engine is running hot? But the temp sensor seems normal.... Any help will be sincerely appreciated!

Thanks!

Sounds like a cat or sensor issue.

Cat might be clogged.
What year is your car? Mileage?

Cat is covered under emissions for 8 years, 80,000 miles.

Car Spec

It's a 2004 RX8 with 30,000 miles. My warranty is no longer in effect, but it's nice to hear about the 8 year CAT warranty . Has anyone ever come across this problem before?

Likely a sensor problem with the rear O2 sensor?

yeah, maybe it's gunked up or something knocked it loose?
crawl under there and take a look.

Any other codes come up or just the 0428?

Likely the narrow band sensor on the midpipe.....

It actually sticks down and is easily hit...god only knows why they put it there
