For some reason my car keeps starting in limp mode. Sometimes it will start up normal then after i leave it to warm up it goes in limp mode. The end result is that i have to turn it on and off a few times before it starts tor run normally again. what could this problem be?
year and mods please. how long has this been happening. any mods just before it started happening. anyone else drive your car without you just before this started happening. what do you mean by limp mode. what are the actual symptoms?

It's a 05 gt,
mods, borla exhaust, mazsport dual resonated midpipe.
It only started doing it when the temp drop to about 35 and lower.
The symptoms are, the car revs extremely slow to about 6k and wont go over 25mph.

Yeah i cleaned the maf sensor about a week ago. I have a check engine light because i dont have a cat. You think it may be a bad MAF sensor? There was a period in time where my car would idle irregularly but after i cleaned the MAF sensor, it was fixed.
^^^ he stated he has one already.
I meant what are they exactly...( edited above for clarity
)
I have a CEL too...a few of them actually, but the light doesn't tell you how many or what they are......
That is needed info for any kind of diagnosis.
Funny thing is the MOP problem doesn't always throw a code.....ask me how I know...2 weeks of frustration and tracing every wire off the ECU

You will need to get a lot more specific...and start looking for problems...or you will need to take it in to someone that can do a diagnosis.
There aren't too many things that cause a true limp mode...ECT sensor, MOP, throttle or pedal system errors.....those should throw codes??
Here's something to try...
Reset your ECU....take off the accordion tube on the front of the throttle body
Turn on the key...and see if the throttle plate moves properly......
Then start the car and let it run for a min or 2....and see if the throttle still opens and closes properly.....
Let me know how that ends up
