Electrical Problem Heater, A/C, Defrosters, Temp Display Out!

I've been having a problem where the right half of the interior display screen goes on and off randomly which causes the center temperature cluster, and the hot and cold **** to stop working during the off phase. Weirdly the fan **** and therefore fan is still functional. It seemed to me to be some odd electrical problem so I tried looking through the cabin fuse box and the engine compartment fuse box for any blown fuses, but couldn't find any. Any other ideas guys?

P.S. This problem started happening this winter.

Please Help...
I have MAzda rx8 2004 Manual 231hrs... I bought 6 months ago, everything was just fine and then few days ago without any reason inside the wires that connect accelerator pedal and brake switch pedal start burning in 2 min i could not accelerate i stop and turn off the battery cable....and i safe my car of burning in fire...
What i realized on the part where the burning start there is one plastic box kind of noise filter and 4 wires colors G/R, G/B, Y/R, W/G...
Can any one help me with this issue , wiring diagram or please picture of the installation from accelerator pedal to the brake pedal so i can see if owner before me install something that cause this problem?!
I can send also pictures i took if any one knows how to help me.
Thank's in Advance.

apart from the snow I drag in from my boots there doesn't seem to be any water, or leaks in the cabin.

This sounds identical to my friends 04 she just bought. Then again, I haven't had a chance to look at the fuses with her yet, so I can't really rule anything in/out.

If you ever figure out, I'd appreciate your input. It's funny because right after I went messing around with the fuses, I noticed the heater working perfectly for the next 3 days. I decided it was probably a loose fuse and was confident I fixed the problem. Then came day four, and the circuit went down again. Ugh! I am realizing that this issue might be more complicated than I thought.

Well, for her, she took apart her center console and pulled out her head unit (terminology may be wrong), and there were some screws that seem to have been stripped out (Possibly from an accident). When those screws are pushed all of the way in, all is good. Once the screw comes out a bit, no power to anything in the center. I'll attach some pictures when I get them uploaded for some reference. Not quite sure how to fix this besides replacing the whole thing...bleh...

And here are the pictures. Pardon the sizes, I'm at work and trying to do this quickly to not get caught :P

The screws holding the front plate (With your radio controls and what not) together with the head unit (Again, terminology) are not screwing together, they just slide out of place, and that's when the power goes out.

I took the car in to Midas today and they quoted me $1350 for the repair. They apparently called up Mazda and found out that this very malfunction is pretty common with RX-8s as they approach the 10 year or 100,000 mile time frame. Mine is an '04 with 56,000 miles however.

Three parts apparently need to be replaced.

Center Panel Module: $595 part only
Display Unit: $239 part only
Climate Control Unit: $550 part only

The guy at Midas said they tested the CPM and that for sure is bad. They are guessing the other parts need to be replaced too. I personly think it's only the Module that needs to be replaced because since this problem is an intermittent problem, the display and climate control unit do function in the "on" phase.

Do you guys know where I could find these parts for cheaper? Maybe used?

That is bullchit, They are feeding you a line. I have had the same problems, mine turned out bad solder connections on the climate control and a bad connection where the radio plugs in to the climate control board.
