Electrical problem?

The guy claims the engine was blown im not sure if it has seen a mechanic or not but it was parked in the back of a building for over a year. I attempted to charge the battery and there is an annoying buzz/beep coming from near the fuze box. I felt the relay for the horn and there was a pulse coming from that so i removed the relay. I put the key in and turned it for the lights to come on and the gauges went crazy along with a few other lights and a electrical spark sound came from the glovebox? I searched Rx8 club to help find the problem and couldnt. I would be very thankful if someone would help me figure this out because i dont plan on spending much money on the car since i already have another rx8. If someone is in Western PA and thinks they can fix it for a relatively cheap price i would really appreciate it or just someone inform me what the problem may be.

Pull all the fuses for non-critical circuits and see if you can get it down to enough to try to start it but not enough to have crazy stuff going on.

I figured it out. It was a combo of the battery being dead and the alarm going off after i removed the horn relay. Confusing of what even happened.

Oh wow, I bet that was confusing without the horn. Flashing lights, locked ignition, but no noises...

Good luck with the car, hope his definition of a dead engine isn't correct.
