Diagnostics? What do you use?
Just interested in what diagnostic equipment people use to hook up to the ecu for reading codes.
Damn engine light keeps coming on. I keep reseting it but its persistant. Ive had a new engine put in 2000 miles ago. Breaking in period it has been fine! For some reason it keeps coming on now. Its under warantee but its a big drive to the mechanic and it will cost me like £70 in fuel to get there and back. Looking to buy a diagnostic machine so i can just sort this **** myself!
Any suggestions?
Regards, josh

I bought mine at harbor freight for $40 I think. Was the cheapest one they had, it works great.
Any obd-ii reader should work fine, just find one of those at a store thats a bit more local to you.

I got one at harbor freight too, but I got the one that does live data feed, it was on sale for about $100. Love it.
On sale for 120 right now too!

I forgot to say, but mine was a Centec brand. It looks as bad as the one posted by Grace_Excel, but it does the job just fine. As long as you only want to clear codes and see a little snapshot of info about when the cel popped up then those kind are the ones to get.
