Coincidence??? Leak detection pump code p2402 after service at dealer

took care in for oil change an alignment.....picked car up....10 miles later the CEL came on. Took car back to mazda next morning......they tell me its the leak detection pump and will cost 500....wtf...Car had no issues before they service and reset the computer. So is this a coincidence? Please tell me...

Can i fix this issue myself? Could someone Please tell me where this pump is located or tell me where I can find info on this? Where the sensors are that could affect it?

Help! I am livid right about now...If it makes sense that this happens right after being serviced to 2008 RX8 with 25,000 miles somebody let me know.

If you can give any info on location of this pump or any advice it would be much appreciated.

exactly what I was looking for....

This is exactly what I needed. Thanks much! I will be doing my investigation this evening. I replaced the gas cap yesterday because I felt like my stock gas cap was loose. Advanced pulled the code again and it turns out the error is leak detection pump control circuit high. From what I have read it sounds like the wiring harness. Either way these diagrams are great.

Leak Detection Pump location

So the gas cap didnt work. The light is back on and code is p2402 evap leak detection pump control circuit high..
I looked at the diagrams up above. The only pump I see is an air pump directly under the hood. Is that the Leak Detection Pump? If not do you know where it is possibly? Really appreciate the input. Really hoping this is something I can do myself. :-( Hoping its nothing inside the gas tank....
Help! Thanks for the pointers
