What is so difficult for them on this one, I do not know except for the fact that their vendors have guaranteed volumes to which Mazda is beholden.
oh fab

Is there a difference in sound between squeak from a failing pedal bracket vs a failing cut switch?

weakened pedal can damge your transmission over time
Looking for Business??

I definitely do not agree with that one, unless you are a complete klutz of a owner/driver to let it "damage your transmission over time".

BTW: I have had a "squeak" from my clutch pedal from about day 30 of ownership...every now and then.

Reimbursement from Mazda NA?

Has anyone received their checks yet? Does it cover the full amount paid for parts and labor or just parts only? Unfortunately I'm working with Mazda Puerto Rico who is saying that they will only reimburse for parts and not labor. WTF over?

I am curious if the warranty will be voided if I reinforced the bracket by welding it. Chances are, it will be voided .

what about the other squeak. one that comes from under the car, slave cylinder may be? it only squeaks in winter, first five minutes of driving and only when clutch pushed in not when releasing.

They should replace it and reimburse you for whatever you paid for welding. You won't get paid for labor, unless you're in the business and have a bill documenting what you charged yourself.

Just like what VW did in my tale of the fuel pump fuse block. They did the recall, and did not charge for the damage I did to other parts with my own repair.

But isn't welding supposed to be a permanent fix? If so, you should be OK. You won't have the satisfaction of seeing it cost Mazda, but you also won't have the ordeal of it breaking some rainy night on a dark road 20 miles from the nearest phone and 200 miles from the nearest dealer.

Has anyone received reimbursement from Mazda on this yet?

It's been about 2 months now since I've sent it my receipts and service bill for replacing the clutch pedal and I'm hoping to see a check from Mazda this coming week or the following week.

Yes, mine came within a week or two of faxing them the receipts and things.

Maybe give them a call?

My apologies, on double-checking I haven't received it yet after all. I did receive a reinbursement for the towing almost right away, and was remembering that...

I got my reimbursement. $114, the price of the bracket. No money to install it and nothing for the damage to the master cylinder rod. I called and apparently the part is supposed to install itself. NEVER buying another mazda and will tell everyone how they endanger your life and tell you to go F yourself.

Did you do the install yourself or did a Mazda dealership do it for you? It's hard from them to offer a labor reimbursement if it wasn't a dealership

Gave Mazda a call and was told they've processed my claim, and that I should be getting my check either this week or next week. I submitted my claim about a week after they sent out the notice. You guys should be getting yours any day now if you sent yours in right away.

Did you submit a bill that showed labor and the cost to fix the other damage?

Jerky, was it for the full amount? (part and labor?)

My labor and part was 474, and I'm hoping to get all of it back.

Yes it was for the entire amount...even the $100 inspection charge I incurred since I was out of warranty when mine snapped off.
