When there is adequate pressure in the fuel system, when you disconnect the Red fuel line, fuel sprays out, correct?
my line kinda trickles down

I think that would depend on if you primed the lines by turning the key to on position a couple times before disconnecting the line. If it sits for a while I believe some of the pressure rolls back out of the lines.

Fuel pump came before the fuel line check valve. Now I have to figure out how to MacGyver off this lock ring.

No Beans. Still a cold hard start. What do you guys think of seafoam? I am hesitant to pull out the fuel rail and check the injectors.

C-clip SSV valve actuator missing

On my way down to the fuel rail today I noticed that my SSV valve actuator had no c-clip and the rod was not even attached to the bar. Do you think that will cause my car not to start?

I got a tire valve and took out the internals. now I'll test the pressure and spray pattern of each injector then clean them out with some carb cleaner.

It's certainly not helping! If the SSV is open, the airflow is all wrong and could be playing into your starting problems.

The clutch dropping to the floor is usually hydraulics, may want to get on that. Aside from the pedal falling, poor hydraulics may be causing your clutch to not disengage fully and drag the engine and making it harder to start?

And a compression test would be recommended. You don't want to spend all this tie figuring out what isn't the problem.

Thanks

Its not the SSV it's the VDI valve and the clutch is definitely slowing the starting process.
I don't think the VDI is the source of my starting issues.

You've likely got other issues as well.

The VDI doesn't engage until 7250 rpm (normally closed, opens at 7200rpm)

All it is basically is a valve to allow dynamic super charging.
VDI = Variable Dynamic Intake

Those intake valves really need to work properly for the car to start. Having them open slows the air too much to get a good burn going. Ask how I know.

not that I don't trust your wisdom oh, but how do you know? I brought home my fuel injectors and I can of carb cleaner. Got an old Tire valve from the tire shop up the street and some alligator clips with a 9 volt battery. Going to clean and test them now maybe tonight we'll see if all of this stuff is my car starting

OK, not an RX8 but I added an active intake system like ours to my old car. It wasn't plug and play the ECU needed to control the secondary tract open points and, like you, I thought I'd test it without making it work properly. Had to wire the secondaries shut to get it to start. If the VDI is open, because it's free to flop around and the vacuum actuator isn't holding it closed, you might be experiencing the same thing.

You are absolutely right my throwout bearing was in like 7 pieces and as soon as I started it up after changing out the new clutch components and the vdi not SSV actuator clip thing, it started up first crank. Had it sitting for months and I didn't even need to D flood it!
