UK CEL Flashing after minor collision coincidence

Hey guys about 14 days ago due to very icy conditions I slid out pulling in to my road at about 5-10mph and drifted sideways banging my rear driver side wheel in to the curb, the front of the wheel is now facing inwards and looks like track control arms and a few other arms are bent (sorry I dont know the correct terms) rendering the car undriveable.

Since then the car has been sitting for about 14 days, today I decided to start the car today to give it a run untill I can afford to have the repairs done. After starting I noticed that my CEL is flashing and the car sounds terrible, whenever i try to apply a little throttle it does not rev like it used to anymore almost as if it wants to die but doesnt.

Any idea whats going on guys is this just a coincidence or do you think its related to the collision?. (even though the only thing that was hit was my wheel and nothing else)

I am at wits end and really stressed out because of this I am not in the best of places financially and this has just added to the stress .

Any advice would be greatly appreciated many thanks Hady.

*Thought I should add the car is a 2005 model and has done 26k*

you should pull out the code before we can give you any advice. is possible something came loose from the hit.

for the sound it can be a broken exhaust that can be found with a simple inspection.

i can only guess before i know the code.

I'll bet you find the code points to one of the airbags. Sometimes you get an airbag code after a minor accident, even though they haven't deployed.
The ODB II port is located below the steering column.

Could be an eccentric shaft sensor code as well

It will often come up if you stall the car while it is moving...like in a spin at the track

It will go away after a reset and not come back if that is what it is

Yep, standard misfire codes, usually meaning coils and/or plugs.
In your case.....if it was running fine beforehand and no flashing CEL, then I think I'd look and make sure you didn't knock a plug wire off.
That front leading one seems to be the culprit in coming off easy.

Check all four on both ends and make sure the snap/click on.

or he could have a break in a wire as well, sometimes it happens more easily than we think.
