Brakes change gone completely wrong :O

Well now, a few days ago I swapped out my old brakes. The whole procedure went great but the outcome is another story. After a day of driving I noticed as I made a left turn, I noticed a snapping sound coming from the read driver tire. At first I thought it was the brake clip holder but after inspecting them there was no point of impact on the rotors. Anybody got an idea where I should start besides searching, tried and didn't find much.

Just a one time noise?

Could be anything...even something picked up by the tire and thrown in the wheel arch

Have a good look around and if it doesn't recur then it should be good

Actually the noise happens either when I hit a small pot hole, make a sharp turn, or hell just driving in general. It's really getting annoying. It's like a metallic pop/snap. I swear at one point I thought I was going to lose a pad but after I rechecked it everything seemed pretty snug.

Honestly it could be any number of things. I always drop back and retrace my steps when an install goes wrong. Good luck!

There was an old service bulletin that said something about the paint on the rotor, or a pad, or a ring, and the wheel. Fix involved higher wheel nut torque (up from 88) and doing something with the part of the rotor that was painted. The symptom was a sound like you described. I think I found it looking for wheel torque, but not sure. Best I got, try search.

Yeah, that one. Thanks.

Given that, just try a little more torque on the wheels first.

Well it's been a good week already, tried the over torquing but that didn't really help. Probably going to take it in to someone over the weekend. Today though after taking s turn moderately fast I noticed I had like every light in the book on. My e-brake light, abs light and traction control light just all came on at the same time. They all promptly turned off after I shut the car down but something must of tripped all of em, hmm damn all these lights that mean nothing
