Anti Theft system

I Have a 2004 Rx8 and my Anti theft system light has been blinking regardless if the car is on or off for about a month now. I have not been able lock it with my remote either. I read that I could disconnect the negative battery wire turn the key in the on position hook the negative back up and then wait 60 seconds and restart the car and it would reset it. Well I did that today and the blinking light shut off while the car was on but reappeared as soon as I shut the car off and the remote still does not work. I need any help I can get!

That's the normal operation for the light. As for the remote; have you replaced the battery?

Yes I have tried a new battery as well. That light is normally supposed to be blinking?

No that light shouldn't be blinking while driving, actually in the owners manual it says if that light is blinking with the engine running you shouldn't turn off the car because it may not restart.

Your keyless entry system is malfunctioning and probably has to be reset by your dealer. If that doesn't do it there could be something wrong with the keyless entry control module. You could try swapping it with one from another 8, maybe another local member will let you to see if the keyless entry starts working again. Note: When doing this you'll need to use the remote from the other car. The module is located in the passenger side footwell on the right in front of the door.

I bought a new remote for the Mazda and followed the steps for reprogramming the car. I disconnected the car battery. When I connected the wires back to the battery, my car won't start. 1) how can I get the car to start? 2) do I need to reset the alarm? if so, how?

What does the car do when you try to start it? Is it making a clicking noise when you turn the key? If so, your battery is dead and you need to jump start it.

Did your new remote program correctly? Can you lock and unlock the car with the remote? You only got a new remote not a new key right?

Has anyone successfully fixed this issue?
The alarm is stuck ON, I have to remove both the horn and flasher fuses
The car will start and runs fine
I bought new remotes with new batteries and am unable to program them
I am able to engage the programming feature with the three ignition turns and three close/open door instructions
the remote will not synch or program

Thanks
