AC Compressor Fail

Has anyone experienced their AC Compressor failing only when its raining outside?

Any other time it works fine, but when I need the defroster, I can hear the clutch kick in on the AC Compressor, and then it immediately shuts off. It tries to kick in again and immediately shuts off. This is at idle usually or very slow speeds. At highway speeds it will come on and stay on properly.

I've tried fuses, relays, and resetting ECU (thought it may have had something to do with a temperature sensor)

I'm dead serious. Driving home on the FDR in the rain and having to wipe the inside of my windshield every 5 minutes isn't fun.

Of course. no matter where temp setting is, the compressor clutch clicks in then immediately shuts off. clicks on, then off immediately.... its like the compressor is refusing to stay on.

I added a can of freon (or r134 whatever it is) when the AC Compressor is running, its running really cold. The car just had its AC Condenser and pulleys replaced. I'm just hoping there is something I could do myself without having to drop it off at the dealer. I just got it back after a month and a half. (it was in an accident)

Assuming the shop properly charged the system after their repairs, you could have overcharged by adding freon; this could cause the Hi-Pressure switch to open and cycle the clutch. Go back to the shop and have them put some gauges on your system.

Just got off the phone with the dealer, it seems that they overcharged the system. They set it to the correct amount. Hopefully this solves the issue.
