Turbo gauges

I´m installing my extra gauges for my turbosetup right now and came up with an idea. I want the gauges to dim (just like the stock console does when you turn the little scroll wheel to the left of the steering wheel.
I´m thinking about hooing up the gauges to this scroll wheel as well so the dim along with the center console.

The problem I´m having is that I can´t find any wiring diagram for this harness nor do I know wich cable to slice in order to get this to work. Anyone wants to help me out here?
Oh, one more thing... I have 5 gauges, where´s the best ground?

it depends on the gauge...a mechanical gauge just has wires for the light, and you could splice those directly to the dimmer switch. electronic gauges is the 12v+ switched line for both the light and it's internal electronics, so you wouldn't want to vary the current to that.

Yes, I thought of that when I bought my MECHANICAL gauges...
The gauges are from VIVID and are all SLM´s (smoke lens meters)... so the are totally black when off.

Maybe you misunderstood me... It would really help if I knew what cable on the back of the dimmer-switch to use...
Any diagram of that?

in my exploration of the dimmer wires at the back or the radio (with the install of my iva-d310, i originally neglected to hook up the illumination to the factory radio, so i didnt have any lights on my heater/ac guages) well anyway, i was doing some work on my car yesterday, and decided to get in and get this done, and what i found is that one of the wires (there are 2)at the radio is straight 12v when the parking lamps are on, and the other is variable, starting at just about 0v with full illumination, and going to about 10v with the dimmest setting.
