You have to be blunt Scott.

Rex8y find another tuner and also do a compression test. 93k on an engine may make every attempt to fix a problem completely useless.
Welcome to the real world of incompetent "professionals".

It is really rich...dumping fuel like crazy...tune can't be too good

The stock plugs will be fine at 4-5 psi...so it is unlikely that

Quit driving it before you pop the motor...won't last long at that mileage with a bad tune

If ignition coils/spark plugs/plugs are ok (replace first the ignition coils) the engine is blown.
i did this and it didnt start with one side so i will change the spark plugs first if that doesnt work then the coils thanks a million u know what ur talking about...

Did the tuner alter the dwell for the BHR coils?

There are so many ways to FUBAR up the Cobb tune if you don't know what you are doing.....surprised though..at 4psi it would likely run on the stock tune without too much problem

I have no clue what that is or means...

I changed coils, plugs, wires and it did the same i changed the tuners map to factory and it was still doing the same, soon my friday i will let you guys know what exactly was the problem with the car just in case it happens to someone else again they can use this as a reference...

Members who go through this experience will likely never find this thread, as the members who go through this experience show little knowledge, and even less research on the subject.

not sure how close you are to norwood, but DSG - DENT Sport Garage - Self Built. A sport garage in Norwood, MA. USA is very popular amongst the rx7 forums

Ι wish to be proved wrong for this diagnosis but I guess that the engine is blown.

It is very common to turbocharge a many miles renesis and blow up the engine because the apex seals are very worn and cannot handle even the lowest boost.

You should always measure compression before turbocharging.

Keep us updated for your issue

Blown engine due to a jacked up tune I would guess.

Yes this is possible. However, another possibility is that the engine had a lot of miles and the apex seals could not handle the boost. Finally, emange tuning may be the weak point (if that RX-8 was tuned with emanage )

yeah i dont think it was the tune, but the apex being worn out most likely and it was tuned with a cobb accessport

Tuned by who? how many rx8s did he tune before tackling yours?

Change tuner with the next engine.

the tool used to do the tuning is not as important as the person doing the tuning. It very well could have been a bad engine to begin with but we will never know. Either way, boosting a high mileage Renesis without planning for a rebuild is crazy. I hope the OP has the means to get the engine rebuilt and get back on the road.
